Built in 1936 Revel Motor Row, was previously home to the Illinois Automobile Club and the Chicago Defender building, making it a city landmark rich in Chicago history. Restored in recent years as a private event production space and part of fueling the resurgence of an iconic neighborhood into a thriving entertainment district. Conveniently located just 10 minutes South from downtown, this neighborhood is on the move, growing and changing everyday and perfect location for your celebration.

Recently, the opening of several notable hotels including a Hilton Garden Inn and Marriott Marquis Chicago. The property’s have brought new amenities to the surrounding areas as well as making easy for guests to stay close to the venue.

The Details

  1. Capacity: This is a great space for wedding and receptions in the 200-220 guest range, with a max capacity of 250 ppl seated for dinner with a dance floor.
  2. Aesthetic Appeal: Motor Row describes itself as Spanish Revival, Art Deco, and Historical, with a beautiful outdoor courtyard.
  3. Services and Amenities: This venue comes with a exclusive vendor list which means if you elect to get married or have your reception here you are required to use their vendor list for both catering and design. Both vendors, Limelight Catering and Revel Decor, are some of the best in the Chicagoland area with customization of menus and venue spaces. The venue also offer a preferred vendor list including Frost Lighting, Black Oak Technical Productions, Sound Investment, and Elegante Weddings and Events.
  4. What does a preferred vendor list mean? That you don’t have to go with these vendors and can bring in your own. Keep in mind the ones recommended are all highly familiar with successful weddings and receptions within the space and know the staff of Motor Row. If you elect to bring a different vendor they do have to be approved the venue and have a a business insurance policy that can list them as additionally insured.
  5. Additional Amenities: Valet Parking with VIP Valet, Coat Check, Bridal Suite to get ready in with vintage stained glass windows.
  6. Flexibility: Flexibility is key, especially if you have specific ideas or requirements for your wedding. This space offers 50,000 sq. ft. of flexible event space•7,000 sq. ft. private outdoor courtyard with access to an adjacent 5,000 sq. ft. building. You can customize the layout, and this venue offers ceiling installation ability for hanging decor and lighting.

Weather Contingency Plans: This is a great space to consider if you’re planning an outdoor wedding with an easy backup plan to use the indoor reception space. Guests can move to separate bar area during the flip of the space for the reception. Another option is to tent the outdoor area as seen in the photo above.
